"Diversität leben - eigentlich ist das für uns alle Alltag. Aber diese Diversität wollen und müssen wir auch im Arbeitsleben noch konsequenter abbilden. Davon profitieren wir, Diversität ist heute Grundvoraussetzung für Erfolg!" Das Statement kommt von Herzen. Sehen Sie selbst!
Dear readers,
We stand for clearly formulated goals. They concretize expectations, provide direction and give us energy. Goals mobilize us, connect us with like-minded people and give meaning to our actions.
That is why we are slowly saying goodbye to 2024 by setting goals for 2025 and making plans to achieve them. The RWTÜV Group is well equipped for this: We have trained our managers well and provided them with the best tools for the daily challenges. With the principles of new work formats, we give our employees space to contribute their strengths in their everyday work. We not only keep an eye on trends and developments, we also help shape the future ourselves with our innovation competition. We have a global presence and are in good contact with our employees, for example in Asia.
Read for yourself about the topics that occupied the RWTÜV Group in November. Or watch the video “Meet the CEO Part 2”, which you can access via the link below this newsletter, to see a Group CEO who is successful and motivated, EVEN THOUGH he has not fully realized his childhood dreams.
Best regards
Yours
Thomas Biedermann and Dr. Fabian Fechner
Personal contact is worth its weight in gold, especially when it comes to exchanges between cultures as different as Asian and European. The rapid pace of change, not only in the Asian market, makes regular visits all the more meaningful. RWTÜV Managing Directors Thomas Biedermann, Dr. Fabian Fechner and Andreas Ehre experienced this not for the first time during their visit to the subsidiary Cetecom K.K. in Seoul, South Korea. The planning and further expansion of services was discussed in good talks with the employees and team leaders. Customer visits were also on the agenda.
Next, a highly motivated team awaited the three travelers in Japan. The colleagues at the Shin Yokohama branch want to bring their expanded range of services to market quickly in order to strengthen their position against competitors and increase their market share.
Andreas Ehre, MD of cetecom advanced, drew a positive conclusion from the visits: “As in Germany and the USA, internal cooperation with Asia is developing very positively. Thanks to the close international links, we can generate an expanded service portfolio for our customers, which is of course an additional incentive for all sides. These are good prospects for 2025 and beyond.”
This year's edition of the RWTÜV Group's internal innovation competition focused on the topics of artificial intelligence and digitalization. The question was how ChatGPT, Google Gemini or Microsoft Copilot could be used to develop new opportunities for the RWTÜV Group's working methods, job profiles and services, how AI can digitally transform the Group's services, make processes more efficient or even attract new talent.
Forty-four suggestions were submitted by employees, which are currently being reviewed and evaluated by the RWTÜV Group's managers in order to be awarded a prize on December 4.
However, a first winner has already been determined. Frauke Schell emerged as the most chosen in the community voting, in which the suggestions could be liked by the entire workforce.
The Enoplan colleague came up with the idea for an AI-supported knowledge management system for everyday work. Not only can it make it easier for new employees to get started, it also supports long-serving colleagues with quick and targeted answers to everyday questions.
Frauke Schell calls the system “Company GPT”, which is specially tailored to internal needs and can make processes more efficient by providing uncomplicated access to company-specific information. AI-supported answers to regularly recurring questions such as “Where is the expense report document?”, “Where can I reserve pool vehicles?”, “Who can I call if my VPN connection is not working?” or “How many vacation days do I have left?” can not only shorten and facilitate access to information or simplify onboarding for new employees. The workload of HR and other support departments would also be reduced. “This leads to increased efficiency and allows our teams to focus on their core tasks,” said Schell, promoting the benefits of her idea.
The Group's colleagues liked the idea and rewarded Frauke Schell with first place in the community voting. The winner also received warm congratulations from RWTÜV Managing Directors Thomas Biedermann and Fabian Fechner: “That's a great suggestion. A quick implementation is in all our interests!”
Imagine you knew easily at all times about all the tasks to be completed in your project and the available capacities of your colleagues and could then distribute both ideally. Utopian? No, a clear goal for project management in the RWTÜV Group!
At the beginning of November, a training course on “Agile working formats” was held for the second time at the RWTÜV headquarters, which included a so-called Kanban board. This tool from agile project management aims to support teams in bringing the work to be done in line with the available capacities of each individual team member so that bottlenecks can be avoided and successes can be realized quickly.
Agility as the core of this method describes the ability of a company to adapt quickly to new situations and react flexibly to new challenges. Change is seen as an opportunity, which is why agile working requires not only rethinking, but also the courage to break out of our comfort zone and try something new.
Sebastian Trost, Innovation Manager at Enoplan, was a proven speaker and once again inspired the participants with his specialist knowledge and practical experience. The seminar also offered colleagues from the various companies the opportunity to network within the RWTÜV Group.
The RWTÜV Group's management staff are well informed for 2025 and optimally positioned thanks to targeted measures:
Over the course of three events and a review date, RWTÜV F2 managers were made fit for all upcoming challenges this year. A wide range of topics were covered at various venues with many different speakers: From conflict resolution and communication optimization to employment law, from development coaching to time management, the team, group and project leaders were given expert tips and specialist knowledge. At the end, everyone in the new leadership circle received a certificate, before the training was celebrated in style at the Rohmühle restaurant in Bonn.
The annual Group Management Meeting with the RWTÜV management took place in October in Bruchsal at Enoplan GmbH and in Östringen-Tiefenbach. Thomas Biedermann and Dr. Fabian Fechner discussed with their colleagues the strategic direction for the coming years up to 2030 and planned activities to sharpen the umbrella brand. Another topic was the deliberate integration of innovation management into the work processes of the subsidiaries and the holding company.
